Program: Infant Mental Health
Award Amount: $156,560.00
Funding Category: Healthy Children
Summary: The Tykes & Teens Little TYKES program creates a partnership between childcare center staff, an Infant Mental Health Specialist, and parents/caregivers to help shift the culture from traditional behavior modification to trauma informed interventions based on a deeper understanding of disruptive behaviors. The Infant Mental Health Specialist is embedded on site at the childcare center in order to provide direct services and ongoing support to create system change. Unique to this approach is the use of evidence based Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) on site in the centers, along with traditional Infant Mental Health Consultation. This program is done in collaboration with the Early Learning Coalition, Healthy Families and Helping People Succeed.
